I was too busy yesterday to put up a “2 days before 2010″ blog post, so here I am already counting down hours.
The thrill is on!
Part of my day was spent talking to friends on the phone and replying to their emails. Sadly, the year’s end has brought bad news for two of my dearest soul sisters: one has kidney problems, the other was diagnosed with breast cancer and will be going in for surgery next Tuesday. I have candles burning and my thoughts are with them constantly — Healing Light, Positive Energy, and LOVE LOVE LOVE going out their way.
Later in the afternoon, I delivered my son’s documents to Revenu Québec at their downtown offices (mission accomplished!) and hunted for my new planner. I found just what I was looking for: it’s a bit larger than the one I had this year, and the columns for Saturdays and Sundays are as spacious as the ones for the week days. Yesss!
Now as soon as I finish writing this post, I’ll be relaxing in my big comfy armchair, sipping a cup or two of grean tea, thumbing through my old planner to check for birthdays and other important dates in order to copy them into my brand new planner. I doubt I’ll be going through the whole thing as I need to get some sleep.
Before I sign off, must tell you that as soon as I started writing this post a song came to mind — It Was a Very Good Year, by Frank Sinatra.
I checked my collection and found it in a double CD set, Sinatra: Soundtrack To The CBS Mini-Series, so of course I went ahead and played it. Though I’m not THAT old, I will be turning 60 in 2010. And lately I’ve been working on my Road Trip Show, which means I’ve been looking back on my life and enjoying moments I didn’t take the time to enjoy when they were actually happening — how cool is that?!
All this to say that the lyrics at the very end of the song truly resonated with me:
And now I think of my life as vintage wine
From fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs
It poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year
Give it a listen… I’ll be back during the day
with more countdown news.
Lady Law of Attraction needs more space.
And so the big clean-up continues today…
Out with the old, in with ABUNDANCE!
Though it’s become a regular habit of mine to get rid of clutter-causing stuff, I want to make sure nothing’s going to keep the good energy from flowing through my home.
Today’s mission:
#1 — Check bedroom closet and commode drawers for unworn, unwanted, or uninteresting clothes and accessories.
#2 — Go through storage spaces and be on the look-out for useless objects.
#3 — Explore kitchen cabinets & drawers for outdated, out of order, or outright ugly items.
#4 — Inspect bathroom cabinets for whatever odds & ends are threatening havoc.
I’ve set up a JUNK STATION in the kitchen:
Blue bag on the right for recycling, black bag in the middle for garbage, striped bag on chair for Friperie Renaissance (equivalent of Goodwill).
The final sprint is on — time to clear the way for 2010.
If I want the next year to bring its load of ABUNDANCE,
I need to lend a helping hand to Lady Law of Attraction.
So today’s mission is to:
#1 — Get the accounting up to date for my housing co-op (left pile) and finish my son’s house-building tax report (right pile).
#2 — Once numero uno is done, tidy up that desk and tidy up my computer station.
#3 — Tidy up my drawing area.
#4 — Go through the last two boxes of my Paper Purge which was officially launched in August 2008. I’m really proud of myself for having FINALLY sorted this mess.
